more than a place to gather

The story of Turtle Moon Farm begins with two people who believe that food, hospitality, and shared experiences have the power to bring us closer together.

Amanda Bruegl (Oneida + Stockbridge-Munsee) and Erik Brodt (Ojibwe) have spent their lives caring for people in different ways.

Both are physicians at OHSU, where precision, compassion, and service shape their daily work. Outside the hospital, they've long shared another passion: creating spaces where people feel welcomed, nourished, and connected.

Turtle Moon Farm is where those worlds meet.

a table before there was a farm

Long before Turtle Moon Farm, Amanda and Erik helped build Forequarter, the nationally recognized Madison, WI restaurant named one of Bon Appétit's 50 Best New Restaurants in America and a seven-time James Beard semifinalist.

That experience reinforced something they already believed: some of life's most meaningful conversations happen around a table.

When they found this land overlooking the Columbia River Gorge, they didn't imagine simply hosting events. They imagined creating a place people would return to year after year.

A place where music could echo across a field. Where strangers could become friends over dinner. Where slowing down wasn't the exception, but the expectation.
